What does the 4Dx test for?
Screen for six vector-borne diseases
Heartworm disease has been found in dogs in all 50 of the United States. While heartworm is both treatable and preventable, it is a serious and deadly disease that may show no clinical signs in its early stage. We recommend screening annually, when refilling your heartworm medication.
Lyme disease is transmitted by ticks to dogs. It is important to screen for due to the severity of the disease. There are 4 stands that we can test for at our mobile clinic they include: Ehrlichia canis, Ehrlichia ewingii, Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Anaplasma platys. Early detection and medication can reduce the severity of the disease. If your pet is exposed to ticks we always recommend flea and tick control year round as well as testing yearly for these diseases.
